REMEMBERING DAVID BLOOM

Some of the biggest names in news are expected to turn out Wednesday for a memorial mass in honor of NBC newsman David Bloom at New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral. Bloom died April 6 while covering the war in Iraq. A private family service was held over the weekend. read more

THE OSCARS, THEY'RE NOT

Nominations for the 2003 MTV Movie Awards were announced Monday, and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Spider-Man led the field with five nods apiece. They'll compete for best picture with 8 Mile, Barbershop and The Ring. Nominees for the top award — best on-screen smooch — include Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man), Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner (Daredevil), Nick Cannon and Zoe Saldana (Drumline) Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz (Gangs of New York) and Adam Sandler and Emily Watson in (Punch-Drunk Love). Duking it out in the newly-created virtual performance category are Yoda, Scooby-Doo, Gollum (from LOTR), Dobby (from Harry Potter) and Kangaroo Jack.
