CBS, Game of Thrones Top Creative Arts Emmys

Kathy Bates, Peter Dinklage

HBO led the Creative Arts Emmys Saturday with 17 wins, including five for Game of Thrones.

The epic drama series took home awards for sound editing and non-prosthetic make-up. The network's other projects, including Boardwalk Empire, Hemingway & Gelhorn, Girls and Game Change, also earned honors, bringing the total to 17.

Mad Men, American Horror Story and Downton Abbey top Emmy nominations

CBS ranked second for the evening with 13 wins, thanks in part to its victory in the reality show category for Undercover Boss. The Eye also received two acting wins: Martha Plimpton won best guest actress in a drama for her return to The Good Wife, and Kathy Bates took home best guest actress in a comedy for playing the spirit of Charlie Harper on Two and a Half Men. Bates, who is also nominated for best actress in a drama for Harry's Law, is the first woman to win an Emmy for playing a man. The win is her first after 10 nominations.

Best guest actor in a drama series went to Jeremy Davies for Justified. Jimmy Fallon was named best guest actor in a comedy for his turn as host of Saturday Night Live — his first time hosting after starring on the show for six years.
