What Are the 10 Most Anticipated Returning Fall Shows?

Mark Harmon, Ellen Pompeo, Joshua Jackson

NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, and Fringe are the most hotly anticipated returning fall shows, according to TVGuide.com's TV Team research panel.

Fall TV: See where your favorite shows left off last season

NCIS
ended last season with fan favorite Ziva (Cote De Pablo) bruised and battered after being taken hostage by terrorists. Fan anticipation is centered on who exactly took Ziva prisoner, how long she will be held captive, and whether or not her loyalty still lies with NCIS.

Grey's will resolve its season-ending cliffhanger, which found both George (T.R. Knight) and Izzie (Katherine Heigl) battling for their lives. Fringe will have to straddle two realities after introducing in the finale an alternate universe that features, among other things, the World Trade Center's Twin Towers still standing.

The 10 most anticipated shows are:

1. NCIS (CBS)
2. Grey's Anatomy (ABC)
3. Fringe (Fox)
4. Supernatural (CW)
5. Bones (Fox)
6. The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
7. House (Fox)
8. Castle (ABC)
9. Criminal Minds (CBS)
10. Dexter (Showtime)

The research survey was conducted Aug. 25-27, and 3,669 of the approximately 10,000 members of TVGuide.com's TV Team research panel participated. Stay tuned for more fall TV results from the research panel.
