Fashion Hit or Miss: The Many Faces of Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga
Kanye West may have monopolized Monday's VMA headlines by bum-rushing Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, but we'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the attention-seeking efforts put forth by one Miss Lady Gaga, with her multiple wardrobe quick-changes.

Gaga walked the red carpet in a look that is equal parts Mad Hatter and dead crow (left): a floor-length, corseted Jean-Paul Gaultier gown, a stiff, feathered collar by Kiko of London and a flattened top hat.
The singer then changed for her Phantom of the Opera-inspired performance into a white lace top, matching panties and thigh-high boots. (And there was a reason why it was all white.)

Outfit No. 3 was, fittingly, red lace (center), worn with an accompanying face mask — which turned out to be an awkward choice when she had to remove it to give her Best New Artist acceptance speech.
Near the close of the show, around the time that Beyonce graciously donated her stage time to benighted, underprivileged pop star Taylor Swift, the camera caught Gaga in the audience wearing yet another "outfit": a bird's nest-like headpiece that surrounded her face. (What, did she change during commercials?)
What did you think of Gaga's parade of outfits? Performance art or train wreck?
