Melissa Rycroft sat out Monday's Dancing with the Stars after suffering a hairline fracture in her rib, but is expected to continue with the competition.
The former Bachelor contestant re-aggravated an injury she sustained during practice last week. She missed her jive with partner Tony Dovolani, as well as the team mambo.
"Complications will prevent her from dancing tonight," host Tom Bergeron announced. "She's talking with a doctor right now. It looks like she'll be able to continue in the competition."
Repeating a rule used earlier this season when Steve-O missed a performance due to injury, the judges scored Rycroft and Dovolani's jive using their rehearsal footage taped earlier in the day. Pro Lacey Schwimmer replaced Rycroft, the team captain, in the team mambo. The team's score of 25 will be added to Rycroft's jive score of 21.
A "heartbroken" Dovolani later encouraged fans to vote to keep the pair in the competition.
Rycroft is the eighth celebrity to be injured this season, following Gilles Marini, Steve-O, Steve Wozniak, Holly Madison and Ty Murray. Nancy O'Dell and Jewel withdrew from the show with injuries prior to the premiere.
