Gossip Girl - Season 2
Hey, Upper East Siders, Season 2 of the CW's hit teen drama Gossip Girl is now on DVD shelves, and OMG! is it a great set.
The release includes seven discs of scandalous scenes, breakups and make-ups, and startling revelations. The show's sophomore season took viewers through college visits, acceptances and rejection (Blair's Yale dreams were crushed), a devastating death for Lily and Chuck, some interesting couplings, and one huge twist. (We won't spoil it in case you're playing catch-up.)
In addition to the twenty-five episodes, the DVD set also includes some fun extras. "Fifth Avenue Meets Gossip Girl" takes you on a tour of all the show's hot spots while various cast and crew members discuss the locales and the scenes that were shot there. Highlights include the trendy Hudson Hotel, 1 Oak restaurant, and, of course, the Hamptons.
The extras also include a look into J. Humphrey and Eleanor Waldorff's designs — both are fictitious clothing lines created for the series. There are also the fun and kooky
Chasing Dorota webisodes that go behind the scenes of all of the Gossip Girl clique's "help." Even everyone's favorite maid has a love life!
The standard deleted scenes and gag reel of bloopers are also available for viewing, as well as the audio of You Know You Love Me by Gossip Girl series author Cecily von Ziegesar.
All in all, the extras on the DVD are a bit of a step up from the first season and certainly enough to satisfy any avid Gossip Girl fan. Pick up a copy before the new season starts Sept. 14.
