Breaking Bad Season 1 — Review

Breaking Bad — Season 1

Walter White (Bryan Cranston) is a chemistry teacher forced to take on a second job to make ends meet for his wife (Anna Gunn) and physically challenged son (RJ Mitte). A trip to the doctor's office for a bad cough reveals he has terminal lung cancer, and with only a few years to live — and nothing to lose — he decides to take on a new job cooking and selling meth with the help of one of his former students. Cranston, best known for playing "Hal" on Malcolm in the Middle, shines as Walter White, a role that earned him an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

This 3-disc set includes all 7 episodes (the show was one of the victims of the writers' strike), and some really great bonus material. There are two commentary tracks featuring creator and executive producer Vince Gilligan and Cranston, a "Making of Breaking Bad" featurette, screen tests, deleted scenes, Gilligan's photo gallery, "Inside Breaking Bad," and an AMC Shootout interview with Gilligan, Cranston and Mark Johnson.

Check it out just in time for the Season 2 premiere on March 8!
