Cheers to Saturday Night Live's latest scene-stealer: Michaela Watkins.
With Amy Poehler's exit, SNL needs women, and Watkins made a big splash in only her second week with a spot-on impression of Arianna Huffington on Weekend Update. Her explanation of why the Iraq War is pornographic was nothing short of brilliant: "We went into a foreign place, totally unprotected, there's a big surge, we don't pull out — it's disgusting!"
I just hope the SNL gig doesn't mean Watkins has to leave her recurring role as Hamish Linklater's therapy-patient-turned-girlfriend, Lucy, on The New Adventures of Old Christine (where her pantomime with doppelganger Julia Louis-Dreyfus was I Love Lucy-worthy). Kristen Wiig, watch your back!
