Cheers: Everything Old is New Again

Hamish Linklater and Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Cheers to The New Adventures of Old Christine for proving it's every bit as good a sitcom as Seinfeld. You probably don't know it since CBS has inexplicably exiled her show to Wednesdays with the mediocre Gary Unmarried, but Julia Louis-Dreyfus is doing career-best work as the titular single mom (even Emmy winner Tina Fey admitted to ripping her off). The ensemble is as reliably funny as Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer: Hamish Linklater has particularly come into his own this season as Christine's codependent-therapist brother, Matthew. Forget the Seinfeld curse — Old Christine has made Louis-Dreyfus the mistress of her domain.
