Jeers to Two and a Half Men for saddling Alicia Witt with a truly ridiculous role.

Cheers: Jimmy Smits Has Dex Appeal

Jimmy Smits and Michael C. Hall

Cheers to Jimmy Smits for turning up the heat on Dexter. In his best role since NYPD Blue'sBobby Simone, the Emmy-winner smolders as Miguel Prado, an ambitious Miami DA who befriends Michael C. Hall's titular blood-spatter expert, unaware the heretofore "ethical" serial killer accidentally offed Miguel's possibly not-guilty brother, Oscar.

Cheers: SVU Is Burstyn with Talent

Ellen Burstyn in Law & Order: SVU

Cheers to Ellen Burstyn for her Emmy-worthy guest turn on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The Oscar-winner brought heart-wrenching life to the role of Bernadette Stabler, Eliot's bipolar mom. Her extended scene with her estranged son (the always-excellent Chris Meloni) was ... read more

Cheers: Mad About Peggy's New 'Do

Elisabeth Moss

Cheers to Mad Men for finally letting Elisabeth Moss get rid of those horrible bangs. Due to her unsightly '50s-style 'do, Moss' junior copywriter Peggy Olson has been having bad hair years ever since she started at Sterling Cooper. She briefly restyled her coif when she tried to be one of the guys at a strip club earlier this season, but it took an ill-fated date to a Bob Dylan gig with gay coworker Kurt (Edin Gali) to provide Peggy with the extreme makeover she so desperately needed. Even oily ex-lover Pete (Vincent Kartheiser) noticed there was something different about her.

Now let's hope Peggy really lets her hair down.

Reader's Jeer of the Week: Not-So-Full House

Jennifer Morrison, House

Posted by catey1...

Jeers to the writers of House for failing to find any use for Cameron. It's a shame the way they've treated the character and the actress (Jennifer Morrison). They need to find a way to bring her back into the show, instead of the 30 seconds of screen time she currently gets. Shame on you all for treating a great character like this!

Cheers: Luke Who's a Cult Leader!

Luke Perry in Criminal Minds

Cheers to Luke Perry for his image-changing guest shot as a wacko cult leader on Criminal Minds. Ever since Dylan McKay's heyday on Beverly Hills, 90210, Perry has been trying to shed his junior-James Dean mantle by playing real bad boys — witness his term as a convict on Oz or his recent spot as a serial rapist on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His deeply creepy turn as Benjamin Cyrus, a Colorado polygamist who takes Agents Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Prentiss (Paget Brewster) hostage during a stand-off, may finally do the trick.

With juicy roles like this one, it’s no wonder Perry has so far resisted the temptation to strap on the old sideburns and return to the new-and-unimproved 90210, despite Dylan's status as Kelly’s alleged babydaddy. Stay strong, Luke!
