The Ghost Whisperer Producers: "Heart and Soul"

Ghost Whisperer

Hi, everyone!

Tonight, "Heart and Soul"/Episode 408 airs, which, as you know from our previous blog, is the key to moving forward with Jim and Melinda this season. There's lots of discovery and true romance in this episode. It also deals with the value of friends during a time of need — the push-pull between Delia and Melinda about "believing" is an important test of their friendship, and the turn at the end of the show with these two gifted actors is really powerful. For those of you who weren't able to check out the romantic Ghost Whisperer video of the UK band The Scripts' "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" (a clue here!), you can do that here.

P.K. Simonds and Mark B. Perry wrote this episode, and it was directed by Ian. In the final scene of the show, we think Love looks extremely beautiful. Guest stars are Screen Actors Guild nominee Roxanne Hart (Chicago Hope), Cotter Smith (X-Men 2), Todd Stashwick (The Riches), Ellen Woglom (Viva Laughlin) and Kenneth Mitchell (Jericho). Musically, the show features "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" by The Script (Sony BMG), whose music video we told you about last week. We also have "Earthquakes" by Paul Freedman (RCA/Artista Records), Holly Conlan's "One, Two, Three," Latch Key Kid's "Thin Air" and Shawn Barry's "Say You Will."

This week Jim has been reaching out to fans; we hope that you'll take a minute to visit Jim's Twitter page and get involved.

Also, David Conrad and P.K. Simonds did some interviews this week where they dropped more clues about what's in store for Jim and Melinda. You may want to keep an eye out for them.

We at Ghost Whisperer are trying to read what all of you are saying. We are truly amazed at how deeply you care about this journey — and we're very grateful.  There's nothing more democratic than the Internet because we get to hear your voices totally unfiltered, which is so valuable. We haven't read everything online but we're certainly doing our very best to keep up.

From Ghost Whisperer's Myspace page, we want to thank Diana Jennifer, Beautifully Awkward and Teresa for weighing in on how each of them feels about where Ghost Whisperer is going. We also want to let Just Trying To Live know that we were very touched by her sharing a bit of her personal life experience — it helps for us to know in what context your feelings are based. Shawn gave us a glimpse into his thoughts as to how the dynamic of men and women work within relationships. And, to Liza, yes, Jim and Melinda were on the track of trying to have a baby — we're not sure what's going to happen, yet. What do you think?

On Zaptoit.com, Marti wrote a very in-depth piece about the history of the mythology of Ghost Whisperer — it's interesting to see you apply your own ideas to the themes that have been set in motion by this show. To Elle, we want you to know that Ghost Whisperer will continue doing the 'ghost-busting' stories — they are the signature of the show. When the next original episode airs on Dec. 5, there is definitely a strong ghost story at the episode's core. And, moving forward for the rest of the season, that is the case. Know that the Jim and Melinda theme will be interwoven with the ghost stories.

From the Mel and Jim Boards, Maracev, thank you for going with the storytelling for now — we promise in the end, your patience will pay off. Riverama46 from the CBS boards, thanks for starting the thread about Jim's death that has gotten so much traction and has enabled so many people to weigh in. You've been amazingly consistent at weighing in yourself.

We have some great news! Ghost Whisperer is being honored by the 2008 Family Entertainment Awards as one of the top ten entertainment moments of the year — and one of the best TV dramas to watch as a family.

Jamie Kennedy has more stand-up dates this weekend. He'll be at the Improv in Ontario, Canada, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

And finally, if you want to hear straight from the stars of Ghost Whisperer, check out the new Ghost Whisperer Spirit Guide, which hits major bookstores around the country starting November 25. You can find out more about it here and order a copy here. You can also check out a review of the book on UGO.com.

We hope you'll continue to voice your opinions — we love your passion. Check back with us next week.
