What Do You Like About Ghost Whisperer?
Hey!
David Conrad and we all thank you so much for the wonderful thoughts and wishes you posted last week. Just so you know, despite having to work excessively, David had a wonderful birthday, complete with a decadent chocolate cake from his Ghost Whisperer family and lots of singing (some good — including Ian, P.K. and Love and the writers, cast and crew; some really bad — Kim is a really a terrible singer. It's in the genes!) FYI: David saw every one of your wishes and asked us to post his heartfelt appreciation. So there you have it.
As we get closer to Sept. 25, Melinda's due date and the premiere of Ghost Whisperer's Season 5, we would like to hear what you like most about Ghost Whisperer and what bumped you over the past four years. Please post.
This week, Ian is prepping to start directing the next episode so we've all got our hands full — thus this entry will be a short one. When we finish dashing this off, we're off to the set.
Tonight's episode is "Leap of Faith" (418). Now that Sam/Jim (David Conrad) has refused to accept the truth about his identity, Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is grieving the loss of her last chance at getting her husband back. But everything changes when the mysterious Dr. Byrd (Michael O'Keefe) confronts her with the half-mad Ben Tillman (Mark Pellegrino), another "step-in" like Sam. Ben is the living embodiment of Jim's inevitable future — a slow descent into insanity — unless Melinda can figure out how to save him. When Ben finally succumbs to despair, a flood is unleashed in the tunnels that threatens to engulf Melinda. And the only way she can be saved is for Sam to trust the word of a ghost he doesn't believe in. Co-executive producer and renowned medium James Van Praagh discusses the importance of having faith in this associated video blog.
"Leap of Faith" was written by Executive Producers P.K. Simonds and Laurie McCarthy and was directed by Executive Producer Ian Sander.
This episode guest stars: Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Mark Pellegrino as Ben Tillman (Capote and Dexter), Academy Award nominee Michael O'Keefe as Dr. Byrd (The Great Santini and Michael Clayton), Stephanie Michels as Anne Tillman (Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service) and Chad Morgan as Clarissa Webb (Pearl Harbor and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.)
Musically, "Leap of Faith" features U.K. chart-topping band The Script's "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" (Sony BMG) and "Found" by Phillip LaRue (BEC Recording) and, of course, a fabulous score by Mark Snow.
Please check back with us next week — we'll have more time to run through everything. Bye-bye!
