Ghost Whisperer Producers Talk "Living Nightmare"
Hello! We're so glad to be back on the air for you this week with a brand new episode of Ghost Whisperer! This week, check out David Conrad in "Living Nightmare" as Jim helps Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) solve a mystery filled with twists and turns. This episode takes full advantage of our new hospital set and Jim's ability to use his skills as a doctor to help Melinda solve a case. Additionally, this is the 13th episode of the season and we began filming on for it on Friday the 13th, so we knew it would have some creepy elements from the very beginning!
Attention Soap Fans: This episode features a special guest appearance by Victoria Rowell of Young and the Restless fame! Coincidentally, Victoria plays a social worker in "Living Nightmare," which is a nod to her real-life passion for helping foster care children. For more info, check out http://www.rowellfosterchildren.org/.
In "Living Nightmare," madness seems to grip the hospital — and the town — when a ghost who is making no sense haunts a patient who's making even less. Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is confronted by a new and frightening prospect that the ghost and his prey may be inhabited by a demon. This episode was written by executive producers P.K. Simonds and Laurie McCarthy. It was directed by executive producer Ian Sander.
This episode guest stars: Victoria Rowell as Adrienne (Young and the Restless); Bruno Campos as Vernon Dokes (The Princess and the Frog, Royal Pains); Josh Stewart as Robert Wharton (Criminal Minds, Law Abiding Citizen); Marina Black as Helen Reeman (Flash Forward, Saving Grace); Megan Henning as Lane Dokes (Mad Men, Grey's Anatomy) and Ion Overman as Detective Sam Blair (Three Rivers, Castle).
Musically, this episode features "Late Night Driving" by Peter Bradley Adams and original music by composer Mark Snow. For the Ghost Whisperer "Living Nightmare" music play list, please visit http://www.myspace.com/ghostwhisperer.
As part of our Total Engagement Experience, prepare for Friday's episode by playing our new game, "Shadow Boxer." The shadows are going bump in the night! Help Aiden get some rest by scaring the spooky shadows away to test your skills with the spirit world!
This week in GHOST WHISPERING, Executive Producer P.K. Simonds and Production Designer Mayling Cheng discuss their roles in creating "Living Nightmare."
Check out the all-new advice in the ASK MARY ANN column. Today, Ghost Whisperer's real-life ghost buster Mary Ann Winkowski discusses finding ghosts in apartment complexes and whether ghosts are drawn to negative energy. As you know, Ghost Whisperer did not air last Friday in order to broadcast the much-needed Hope for Haiti Now global telethon to support the earthquake victims. This incident has touched us closely at Ghost Whisperer as many of our cast and crew members are supporters of "Friends of the Orphans," an organization which has a children's shelter in Haiti. And just before the Christmas holiday some of the children from the center and their chaperones were guests on set. Our stunt coordinator, Alex Daniels, has tirelessly worked with this organization for 31 years and serves as a board member. He reported to us that the organization's daycare facility collapsed during the earthquake. Fortunately, Saint Damien's Children's Hospital is still standing despite some structural damage. We have been able, through George Kopp (our contact in Washington, D.C.), to help get newly manufactured clothing shipped to the children at the orphanage and George has connected the orphanage with the Clinton Foundation, which is now helping them. Thank you, George Kopp, Alex Daniels and the Clinton Foundation for putting your hearts and souls into this important cause.
If you are interested in donating to an organization focused to support Haiti's orphans during this crisis, please visit http://www.friendsoftheorphans.org/haitiquake. One hundred percent of your donation will go immediately to assist in shipping clothes, water and supplies to help the rebuilding efforts.
