Ghost Whisperer Producers Talk Successful Season Premiere

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Thank you all for helping make our season premiere a great success! We've read your messages on the boards and we're so glad to hear that you enjoyed and were pleasantly surprised by the first episode! "Birthday Presence" was directed by Jennifer Love Hewitt — she is one of the few triple threats in Hollywood (actor, director, executive producer) at this time. We don't believe there has been an actor to wear all three hats on a drama since the late Michael Landon with Little House on the Prairie. It's quite a daunting task to undertake, but Love handled it effortlessly. Then, wait until you see what we've got lined up for the 100th episode (which she also directs)! We promise, this is just the beginning.

On Friday, you all got to meet our little Aiden, played by the adorable Connor Gibbs. What a joy he has been to have on set with us! He's every parent's dream child — well mannered, plays well with others and good-natured. In honor of Aiden and the new child in our lives, we decided to create this week's interactive game as one reminiscent of a childhood pastime that many of us experienced growing up: Simon Says. Follow the pattern of glowing light — except in Ghost Whisperer Says, you have to see if you can go toe-to-toe with the Spirit World. Click here to start.

And if you missed Melinda and Jim's personalized birth announcement featuring photos of their new bundle of joy, click here.

This baby announcement was sent to you — Melinda and Jim's extended family — at the exact moment the baby was put into Melinda arms during the premiere broadcast.

Special thanks to Keaton Simons for the amazing interactive video he helped us create called GHOST MAGIC. Keaton plays a lovesick magician and sings his hit song, "Without Your Skin." If you haven't seen it yet, you don't want to miss this music video that actually lets you change the images in the video while you're watching it! For more info on Keaton, click here.

This week in "Ask Mary Ann," our ghost expert Mary Ann Winkowski explains what happens to people who suffer from Alzheimer's before passing away. Are they left in that same state after death? Check out the "Ask Mary Ann" column to find out.

When you watch the next episode of Ghost Whisperer, how about enjoying it with a glass of Melinda's Spirit! Watch Magazine created cocktails for the stars and William Oliveri of Le Meurice, Paris created Melinda's Spirit. It's a fruity cocktail complete with dry ice that creates a spooky fog on top. Click here for the recipe.

And we'd like to give a special shout out to our Ghost Whisperer publicity coordinator Alonda Thomas. Her brother Black Thomas (Step Up 2 The Streets, Pastor Brown) appeared as a special guest performer on Dancing with the Stars (http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff82/jclancy922/Dancing%20with%20the%20Stars/). The performance, under the direction of Choreographer Chuck Maldonado and also featuring the USC Marching Trojans, was a tribute to the movie Stomp The Yard in which Black was a stepper. Congratulations!

In tonight's episode "See No Evil," Melinda investigates a haunting behind a threatening chain e-mail that has gone viral in Grandview and is preying on people — and their worst fears.  The case strikes close to home when the emails begin showing up in the mailboxes of people closest to Melinda — and causing hauntings violent enough to put people in the hospital.

"See No Evil" was written by Consulting Producer Jeannine Renshaw and directed by Emmy Award-Winning Director Eric Laneuville.

This episode guest stars: Gigi Rice as Paula (Army Wives, Frasier and George Lopez) Inbar Lavi as Brianna (The Closer), Jerry Shea as Steve (Cold Case, Veronica Mars and Scrubs) and Derrick Williams as Stan (Numbers and Chappele's Show).

Musically, this episode features Meese's song "Next in Line" (Atlantic Records), Will Dailey's "Never Be Your Baby", and Meeting of Important People song "I Know Every Street" (Authentik Artists, Inc.) For the Ghost Whisperer "See No Evil" MUSIC PLAY LIST this week, please visit our MySpace page by clicking here.

Now, on with the show! We've all received our fair share of chain letters or spam email. Thank goodness they weren't anything like what you're going to see in this episode! Enjoy!

Best,
Kim and Ian
