What Shows Will Get You Through the Summer?

Mad Men, True Blood

It's that time of year again. The TV season is all but over, and you find yourself wondering just how you're going to beat the heat of summer without your favorite fall-through-spring shows.

That is, unless you're anything like us and eagerly await the summer months because of cable hits like Mad Men, True Blood, Weeds, and The Closer. Sure, the networks usually fill their schedules with mindless reality shows or burn off shows they've passed on renewing next season, but there's also plenty to look forward to.

So, we want to know: What will you watch to survive the summer? Are you just dying for the final episodes of Pushing Daisies? Will you give in to reality dating shows? Spend some quality time with the boys of Entourage? Or skip summer TV altogether and break out old DVDs?

Tell us about your plans after the jump. read more

What's Your Favorite Star Trek Film?

Star Trek

As J.J. Abrams' reimagining of Star Trek hits theaters on Friday, let's take a moment to reflect on the franchise's big-screen history.

Whether you're a Captain Kirk devotee or a sucker for the Next Generation crew, the 10 previous films have delivered tons of intergalactic adventure — granted, some more than others.

So we ask: What's your favorite Star Trek film? For those of you who are a little rusty, we've given a brief synopsis (um, spoiler alert?) of all the flicks below. Pick your favorite, vote in the poll and tell us why in the comments after the jump. read more

Desperate Housewives: Who's Coming Back?

Desperate Housewives

At last week's Desperate Housewives panel at Paley Fest, series creator Marc Cherry teased that "a major character from the first and second season comes back for the final five minutes of the [season] finale" (which airs May 17, on ABC). Cherry's use of the phrase "from the first and second season" is clever, as there are quite a few former cast members who fall into that category. Make the jump to review our list of suspects and then chime in on who you think it might be booked for an encore. read more

Which of Lost's Latest "Thumps" Trumps the Rest?

Ben's near-death and Jin's return to the living are among this season's thumps.

Happy Thumpday!

As Lost catches one last breath this week before unfurling the final four episodes of Season 5, we thought it a good time to assess the 13 end-of-episode "thumps" served up thus far.

Make the jump and review the list of moments that wowed us before the screen went to black, and then vote for the one that slammed you deepest into the sofa (or beanbag chair, if you've been appropriately channeling the '70s).

Feel free to elaborate on the thump you're stumping for in the comments section.

Got Questions About Smallville?

Tom Welling and Erica Durance, Smallville

To help get you through Smallville's current "break" — the next new episode, "Stiletto," arrives April 23 — executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders have offered to field some questions from TVGuide.com readers.

So ask away, keeping in mind the following important notes:

1. A maximum of two questions per user name will be considered.

2. As a matter of policy, the producers will not answer questions relating to an actor's contract status — and, pay attention now, that includes episode counts past, present or future.

3. I'm closing the doors on this solicitation Friday, April 10, at 8pm/ET.

Good luck!

We want to know: What is your favorite TV wedding? We'll take the horrible endings right along with the happy — just as long as they're memorable.

TVGuide.com Asks: What's Your Favorite ER Moment?

ER

Before we drag out the ashes and sackcloth to start mourning the loss of NBC's ER (the series finale airs Thursday, April 2, at 9 pm/ET), let's remember the good times by celebrating our favorite moments from the groundbreaking medical drama. I'll go first, but I have to warn you: My choice is kind of morbid.
