Kris Allen officially has a record label to call home: The American Idol champ has inked a deal with Jive Records and 19 Recordings.
"As exciting as the last few months have been, I'm really looking forward to what is next," Allen said in a statement. "I'm very grateful to be working with Simon Fuller and his team at 19 Entertainment, along with Barry Weiss and Jive Records, on my debut album."
As for what fans will be treated to on that debut disc, Allen said, "It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show — definitely in the pop/rock genre. I can't wait to get started!"
The album is slated for a fall release.
Allen has some Idol company at Jive: Season 6 champ Jordin Sparks and Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta are still under the banner.
Allen's Idol coronation song "No Boundaries," released under 19/Jive, currently sits at No. 23 on Billboard's Hot 100.
The singer, who performed the national anthem at Game 2 of the NBA finals, will embark on the 50-city American Idol 2009 Summer Tour starting July 5.
