Sometimes having a bad night on American Idol is better than being just OK — at least that's what Lacey Brown, Season 9's first top 12 casualty, thinks did her in.
Brown says her take on the Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday" didn't stand out.
"I think it was just good and it was middle ground," Brown tells TVGuide.com. "So, there wasn't people pulling for the underdog and there wasn't people getting in all their votes because you were the most fantastic or the show stealer of the night. I think that's where you can fall through the cracks sometimes, and I really do think that that's what happened."
