After reinstating would-be-eliminated crooner Matt Giraud with the "judges' save" Wednesday night, Simon Cowell announced the "bad news" that next week, the American Idol singers would be tackling the groovy tunes of disco. (Anyone else already excited/cringing at the prospect of what Adam Lambert will do with/to the Bee Gees?)
Fox also announced that Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta will perform his new single "A Little Too Not Over You," during next Wednesday's results show (9 pm/ET). And in keeping with the disco theme, three icons of that genre will also rock the mic: Harry Wayne "KC" Casey (of KC and the Sunshine Band), Thelma Houston and Freda Payne will sing a medley of their hits "Get Down Tonight," "Don't Leave Me this Way" and "Band of Gold."
Of course, the disco inferno will be hotter than ever next week. Since Cowell & Co. used the judges' save this week, the next elimination will send two hopefuls packing.
Who do you want to see go? And are you excited to see Archuleta back on the Idol stage?
