It's hard dating in the public eye, but it's easy when you're dating a fellow American Idol alum — at least it is for David Cook.
The reigning champ has been seeing Kimberly Caldwell, a Season 2 finalist and Idol Tonight host on TV Guide Network, since the spring and finds comfort in the fact that she "gets that this is all nuts."
"She's a nice break from the chaos," Cook told People.
Though the two are in sync, don't expect them to be in tune as well. Cook says he has no plans to record a duet with his gal pal, who herself has released two singles on iTunes earlier this year.
The 26-year-old's eponymous debut disc hits stores Tuesday, while Caldwell will be back on Idol Tonight when Idol's eighth season premieres in January.
