Coroner Confirms Idol Hopeful Committed Suicide
A former American Idol hopeful found dead outside Paula Abdul's home last November committed suicide, a coroner in Los Angeles has confirmed.
Authorities had suspected Paula Goodspeed, 30, killed herself and had been waiting for toxicology reports. Assistant Chief of Coroner Ed Winter said Goodspeed overdosed on unspecified prescription drugs, reports The Associated Press. Goodspeed did not leave a note, Winter said.
Goodspeed, who had auditioned for Season 5 of Idol, had said she was a huge fan of Abdul and created life-size paintings of her. Abdul initially criticized Idol producers for putting Goodspeed on the air despite warnings that she was an obsessed fan, but the Idol judge recently backed off those claims.
