American Idol Judge Is Engaged

The newest addition to the American Idol judging family, Kara DioGuardi, is engaged.
The singer-songwriter is betrothed to former schoolteacher turned general contractor Mike McCuddy. A rep told Entertainment Tonight that the couple got "engaged on December 8th while on holiday in Mexico. No wedding date has been planned."
DioGuardi's happy news comes at an exciting time in her career. Tuesday, she begins her judging stint on the season premiere of American Idol (8 pm/ET, FOX).
Earlier this month, DioGuardi told TVGuide.com, "Looking at all of the contestants on the whole, I felt that the males were the strongest."
"That being said, there are one or two females that I'm excited about as well. And I'm really just waiting for the show to roll and the next phase to see who's going to roll out on top," said DioGuardi.
